Problems of using ready-made solutions
for cleaning furniture surfaces

Abstract. The article analyzes methods of cleaning furniture surfaces. The main focus is on ready-made solutions «washes» that are sold in the public domain. Their positive and negative qualities, main problems and consequences are studied, and alternative methods that are less dangerous for the restorer and the object are considered.

Key words: furniture, varnish removal, cleaning, ready-made solutions, restoration, conservation.
