Substance of somatic code in culture

Abstract. Sociocultural codes ensure the identity and reproduction of society. Christian civilization as the dominant defines the textual code. Information civilization and the universal semiotization of society led to a significant shift in the Christian paradigm. The modern media description of man and society has made the facet of bodily and mental indistinguishable. The modern semiotic self-description of man and society demonstrates the significance of two sociocodes: the understanding of the textual code as universal remains, and it also becomes more obvious that the bodily codes of culture are fundamental from the point of view of the development and evolution of society. Information civilization makes it clear that bodily code is basic in the practically transformative sphere of society.

Key words: christian paradigm of world history, textual paradigm, bodily practices, bodily codes.
