Testing of individual methods for removing dirt
from the surface of furniture without a finishing coating

Abstract. The article examines the history of desks, evolution and design features, with special attention paid to desks from the 19th and 20th centuries. The problems of approaches to the restoration of cultural heritage sites, in particular furniture, methods of removing dirt from furniture without finishing coatings are analyzed, tasks are defined, criteria for choosing cleaning methods depending on the characteristics of contamination. Trial surface cleaning of various household pollutants was carried out on the basis of theoretical studies. During the experiments, more effective methods were identified, and the negative effects of certain substances on wood were identified and analyzed. Based on the results of practical research, conclusions and recommendations have been formulated for the use of individual methods for removing various types of contamination from the surface of furniture.
