Memoriality in the museum: main approaches to definition, problems of definition
Abstract. This research focuses on the activities of a significant group of memorial museums, which is associated with perpetuating the memory of historical events, state and public figures, representatives of science, culture, art, mainly on the basis of preserved or recreated historical and cultural monuments, nature, memorial and household furnishings and memorial objects. The article presents the main research approaches to the definitions of «memorial museum», «memoriality in a museum», the main classifications characteristic of this group of museums are considered. The research problem is based on widespread modern contradictions related to the perception and interpretation of museum memoriality.
