The Northern Sea Route - the historical heritage of Russia

Annotation. The article describes the history of discovering and exploitation of the Northern Sea Route, which offers great opportunities for the development of new fields in the continental shelf of the Russian Arctic region, which will contribute to the development of other activities for industrial and commercial nature. Tourism is a strategic activity. It will provide new opportunities to improve the social component of the economy.
