Prospects for nomination of ‘The Tom River region Rock Art’ to the World Heritage List
Abstract. The article discusses the organization of activities on the creation of “The Tom Rock Art” place of interest based on a complex of rock art sites in Yashkino Municipal District of Kemerovo Region in order to further promote the object to the UNESCO World Heritage tentative list. The research is based on the history of the study and museumification of the Tom River rock art sites, the modern regulatory framework for the state protection of cultural heritage sites, as well as an analysis of the current condition of state protection of the specified historical and cultural territory. The article proposes various options for the organization of state protection and management of the territory.
