Lithic assemblage from the Pisanaya I site: preliminary results of technical and typological analysis
Abstract. The article presents the results of the preliminary technical and typological analysis of lithic assemblage from the archaeological complex of Pisanaya I. The goals of this paper are to clarify the cultural and chronological interpretation of the studied site and to reconstruct the technological processes implemented by the prehistoric population of the Pisanaya I site. The research revealed and analyzed 2649 lithic artefacts from silicified, sedimentary and quartzite raw materials. The main technological variants of flaking were determined and the composition of the tool set was analyzed. The results of study confirmed the conclusions of the authors of excavation works on the relative dating of the materials to the Bronze Age.
Key words: archaeological complex Pisanaya I, Bronze Age, stone industry, artifact, technological process reconstruction, 3D modeling.
