Innovation in the costumes of “The Russian Seasons» in the Russian ballet on the European stage in first half of 20th century

Abstract. The article shows the importance of the design in accordance with the nature of the production, the actors of the ballets in the «Russian Seasons». The works of Lev Bakst, Alexandre Benois and other designers who reflected the transformations in the ballet in the first half of the 20th century are considered. The article mentions the influence of Sergei Diaghilev on production designers and fashion designers, new trends in ballet fashion. The significant works of fashion designers who influenced the ballets of Diaghilev's troupe are considered.
