Cooperation between the Nizhny Novgorod provincial museum
and the Complex anthropological expedition:
Boris Sergeyevich Zhukov as a mentor
Abstract. The article discusses the multifaceted activities of Boris Sergeevich Zhukov, an archaeologist and paleo-ethnologist. His extensive scientific activity, thanks to a broad integrated approach, turned out to be at the junction of different disciplines that were in the 1920s. at the stage of formation, and attracted students of various specialties: future anthropologists, ethnographers, archaeologists. His active cooperation with local museums is presented: assistance in replenishing collections, organizing scientific, exposition and storage work. Particular attention is paid to the contribution of B.S. Zhukov to the cooperation of the museum of his native city - the Nizhny Novgorod Provincial Historical and Art Museum and the Complex Anthropological Expedition, organized on the basis of the Institute of Anthropology of Moscow State University, in the 1920s.
