Note about representatives of the Fleckenstein family
Abstract. The origin of one of the General Secretaries of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the USSR, the de facto leader of the country, Yuri Vladimirovich Andropov, is still surrounded by legends and historical speculation. The article reveals issues related to the adoption of his mother Evgenia by the temporary Moscow merchant Karl Fleckenstein and his wife Evdokia Mikhailovna, born. Sidorina. Analyzing the information accompanying the discovery of the foundling, the authors of the article come to the assumption that perhaps Evgenia was the daughter of someone from the adoptive circle, or was taken by the Fleckensteins into their family due to the death of Evgenia’s mother or the mother’s abandonment of her daughter.
Key words: Fleckenstein, Sidorin, Kolevatov, Yuri Andropov, genealogy, Rokkala, municipality Johannes, Moscow merchants.
