The work of the Moscow artist and the archaeologist,
the member of the Moscow archaeological society D.M.Strukov (1828–1899)
in discovery, study and saving of the Christian shrines of the Crimea

Abstract. The article is devoted to the scientist, the artist, the archaeologist, the member of the Moscow archaeological society D.M.Strukov (1828–1899) and his contribution to the study of Christian antiquities of the Crimea. The article is based on the archival sources and the printed materials. Told about his scientific expeditions to the Crimea, about the ancient Christian monuments discovered by him, which he studied and sketched. In the article talks about active participation of D.M.Strukov in the social and church life of the Taurida, about his projects for the establishment of monuments in the cities of Crimea, the creation of museums, the library.

Key words: the artist and the archaeologist D.M.Strukov, church archaeology, ancient Christian monuments of Taurida, drawings of Crimean temples, the lives of the Crimean saints.
