The complex investigation by the Heritage Institute on the mediaeval sites in the South of Russia
Abstract. The paper presents main results of the complex research conducted by Institute for Heritage during 1992-2017 on mediaeval sites in the Southern Russia, in the first place on the sites of the Golden Horde in the regions of Volga and Kuban’ river (Selitrennoye, Cernyi Yeric, Angelinskyi Yeric, Bolgary). In the article consider some problems of dating and interpretation of mediaeval archaeological sites. Some part devoted to analysis of the most common regularities of phased forming of cultural landscapes of the Golden Horde’s cities in the regions of Volga and Kuban’ river, it’s difference for cultural landscapes of other mediaeval settlements in the South of Russia.
