Russia and the Russian Diaspora-Germany in the mirror of German editions of the second half of XX – beginning of XXI century

Abstract: The article explores the editions of the Russian emigration published in Germany in 1945-2000, devoted to the history and culture of Russia and the Russian emigration: scientific literature, literary and artistic publications, and journalism. The nature of the materials, the names of the authors, the subjects of the works and their content are examined. The role of these publications in the development of German-Russian cultural relations and the establishment of the so-called «dialogue of civilizations» is analyzed. The article concludes that in the 20th century, Germany was the largest center for the study of Russia and the Russian presence in Europe, which was due to the existence of an extensive archive and library fund, developed scientific infrastructure, strong intellectual potential, as well as a rich «Russian context» formed by emigration from Russia.

Key words: history, culture, Russia, USSR, Germany, Europe, revolution, war, emigration, Russian Diaspora, dialogue of civilizations, cultural heritage.
