To the question of the creative function of a traditional library
Abstract. The article considers the question of the expediency of preserving the traditional library in connection with the emergence of a new situation in the modern world: the emergence of an «information culture». Heuristic potential of library activity is analyzed. Practical recommendations for the restructuring of scientific work in the traditional library are given.
