Formation of the scientific base of cultural heritage: the main sections and topics of the 'Encyclopedia of cultural heritage of Russia'
Abstract. The article presents a brief rationale for the creation of an “Encyclopedia of Russian cultural heritage”. The author presents the main sections and topics of scientific articles of the encyclopedia, as well as characterizes the thematic and structural features of the future dictionary. The “Еncyclopedia of cultural heritage of Russia” will be created as an industry-specific multi-volume scientific and reference publication, which is a collection of articles, definitions, terms and concepts containing a wide professional review on the problems of cultural heritage in the form of a dictionary with attachments. Creating the «Encyclopedia of cultural heritage of Russia», its authors will update the material and intangible heritage of our brilliant and talented ancestors, revealing the information it contains, reveal its new, previously unknown facets and opportunities, restoring cultural traditions and values of the past, and thus, including them in modern life. Therefore, the most important direction of the encyclopedia dictionary will be coverage of issues and problems not only of preservation, but also the use of tangible cultural heritage. It is fundamentally important to reveal in a special and separate volume «Encyclopedia of cultural heritage of Russia» the most significant issues of preservation and use of intangible heritage in Russia, which currently has no official recognition and protection in our country. The creators of the encyclopedic dictionary it is necessary to build the entire range of terminology related to the intangible heritage and to determine its typology. The most important and problematic issues that arise during the work on the encyclopedia will be discussed at the scientific seminar «Preservation and use of the cultural heritage of Russia: theoretical and applied issues» at the Heritage Institute. The practical and theoretical significance of the future edition lies in the fact that the Encyclopedia of cultural heritage of Russia will become an indispensable assistant for specialists in the field of cultural heritage in their practical activities.
