Nizhny Novgorod barge-belyana: past and present
Abstract. The article discusses the Nizhny Novgorod barge-belyana as a type of vessel intended for transportation of sawn timber and other forest products from the Upper Volga to the Bottom. Almost all aspects related to white paper from logging for its construction, its rafting on the Lower Volga, as well as the cost of the products transported in prices of the XIX century are disclosed. In the second half of the article the materials of the archaeological research of the preserved whitefish are presented.
