University Models in Russian Educational Traditions:
Formulating the Problem of Historical Typology and Cultural Attribution
Abstract. The article analyzes the theoretical discourse of modeling the organizational and substantive specifics of the university as a cultural artifact of a specific historical-chronological and cultural-geographical location. The subject of the study is a set of university models in close connection with the cultural concepts that determine the functions of university education. The purpose of the study is to pose the problem of historical typology and cultural attribution of university models to identify their non-obvious connections with the trends of socio-cultural development. The conducted analysis made it possible to establish the connection between historical university models and basic cultural concepts that determine the functions of university education. Cultural attribution of a set of university models that entered the Russian education system at various historical stages of development and became established as a tradition reveals the prospects for further research into the relationship of promising innovative models with the strategic goals of the socio-cultural development of Russian society, including the request to reduce potential risks.
Key words: axiology of education, Russian traditions, cultural attribution, types of university, integral model of university, university of rational thinking.
