Postcard as a source of information on traditional shipbuilding

Abstract. The article is devoted to the consideration of postcards as a source of information for the study of traditional shipbuilding. The author found that postcard have great informational potential, which makes it important to include them in the context of the study of traditional shipbuilding. So, analyzing the ships and boats presented on the front side of the postcard, you can get a large layer of information, including data on the appearance of the vessel, construction technology, design and other characteristics, etc. The article also discusses some thematic postcards depicting ships of various types.
