School as a center for the preservation of cultural heritage:
from the experience of cultural and educational activities of school museums

Abstract. The article examines the role and importance of school museums in preserving the cultural and historical heritage of Russia. The role of school museums in the implementation of educational, educational and research functions is shown. The material of the article allows us to dissociate the educational function from the function of forming citizenship and patriotism. Using the example of the federal project «School Museum: Let's preserve history together», implemented in 2020, and the museum of secondary school № 20 named after N. G. Chernyshev in Kazanskaya village, Kavkazsky district, Krasnodar Territory, the forms of work of the modern school museum are analyzed. Special attention is paid to modern digital practices in the activities of school museums and the advantages that it provides to students and teachers. The article outlines the current problems of digitalization of the modern school museum and suggests measures aimed at their resolution.
