Role of popular science tourism infrastructure in the popularization and preservation of scientific and technical heritage

Abstract. To revive interest in scientific and technical heritage, it is crucial to integrate the research and cultural and educational work of science and technology museums with popular science tourism. Integrating scientific and technical heritage sites into tourism requires the creation of appropriate infrastructure that ensures convenience and accessibility for visitors. This includes the construction of roads, hotels, restaurants, information centers, and other necessary facilities. This article examines the potential of popular science tourism infrastructure as a tool for popularizing scientific and technical heritage. Museums located in the southern region of Russia serve as the empirical base. It is determined that a comprehensive strategy is required for the effective development of popular science tourism. This strategy includes the creation and maintenance of an up-to-date database of scientific and technical heritage sites, the development of attractive popular science routes and their active promotion, and programmatic incentives for the development of related infrastructure.

Key words: tourism infrastructure, cultural and historical heritage, popular science tourism, science and technology museums.
