On the Tentative UNESCO World Heritage List
Abstract. The paper discusses the lack of a unified scientific and methodological approach in the preparation of nomination documentation for promising projects, as well as some secrecy in decision-making, a narrow circle of experts, a weak study of the sources. The author highlights the necessity to actively involve ICOMOS experts for regular monitoring and consultations on each specific property.
Key words: expansion of the UNESCO World Heritage List, nomination procedures, promising sites, historical and cultural diversity of Russia, involvement of ICOMOS experts, regular monitoring and consultations.
