as a figure of culture and cultural studies

Abstract. The article presents the main milestones of the scientific activity of the great Russian cultural scientist and philosopher V.N. Rastorguev (1949-2021). The author examines his social and educational activities in the field of culture, including as a teacher at the State Slavic Academy of Culture. The article also presents the main scientific works of Professor V.N. Rastorguev devoted to research in the field of culture.
