Russian writers museums in the CIS countries:
to problem statement

Abstract. The article attempts to identify the problem of the existence of museums of Russian writers in the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), established in 1991 after the collapse of the USSR. The analysis of the literature on this issue of the Soviet period, modern domestic literature and literature of the CIS countries devoted to the creation, functioning and current activities of such museums is carried out. Based on the information studied, 21 museums of Russian writers in 6 CIS member states were identified. The number of such museums established during the Soviet era and opened in the post-Soviet period has been determined. The quantitative distribution of museums of Russian writers by the CIS member states is given.
