the moskvoved M.I.Alexandrovsky (1865–1943)
– biography and scientific heritage (based on the materials
from the State Historical Museum and the Russian State Library)

Abstract. This article is dedicated to Mikhail Ivanovich Aleksandrovsky, in the 1910s and 1920s a famous moskvoved (Moscow studies’s expert) and historian of Moscow churches, full member of the Moscow Archaeological Society, and secretary of its «Old Moscow». New data discovered in his personal collection at the Department of Written Sources of the State Historical Museum and in the «Old Moscow» Commission’s documents at the Department of Manuscripts of the Russian State Library reveals previously unknown chapters in the moskvoved's life and research, particularly during his work in «Old Moscow» in the 1920s.
