Significant extension to an existing property on the example of the World Heritage site ‘White monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal
Abstract. The article considers the main stages and features of the renomination procedure on the example of the possible significant modifications of the boundaries of the 1992 World Heritage site «White Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal» by adding two cathedrals - the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Savior of Pereslavl-Zalessky and The St.George’s Cathedral of Yuriev-Polsky. The article is intended to fill a gap in the Russian-language scientific literature on the theme of renomination and extension of the boundaries for Russian World Heritage sites.
Key words: white limestone monuments, the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Savior of Pereslavl-Zalessky, The St.George’s Cathedral of Yuriev-Polsky, World Heritage, UNESCO, renomination, significant modifications of the boundaries, extension, Outstanding Universal Value.
