The corporate museum as a tool for preserving the history and accumulating the business reputation of the company

Abstract. Today, the number of corporate museums in Russia is building up, and public interest in their functioning is increasing. For modern companies, the presence of their own museum space in the organizational structure becomes an additional symbol of success and focus on long-term progressive development. Corporate museums not only preserve the company's history and support internal culture and communication, but also act as a tool for multiplying the company's reputational capital. The article examines the evolution of corporate museums in Russia, from the concentration points of ideological products in the USSR to the current centers of attraction for an external audience and multifunctional communication platforms. The increase in the number of corporate museums stimulates the growth of competition in this sector, which is reflected in the holding of various events (including government-sponsored competitions), during which museums can be evaluated by the target audience. Also the quantitative growth of the array of corporate museums means the need to coordinate actions and develop a collective position on key issues. At the current stage of development, this function is performed by various forums and conferences that bring together representatives of the museum community. At the same time, it is possible to predict the deepening of inter-organizational cooperation in the future and the formation of a specialized coordinating body of the community of corporate museums.

Key words: corporate museum, culture, history, communications, business reputation, Corporate Museum National award.
