Place of the State Museum of Arts named after N.Savitsky in the Eurasian cultural space

Abstract. The article is dedicated to the Museum of Arts named after Savitsky in the city of Nukus (Uzbekistan) and the collection collected by the director of the museum, I.V. Savitsky. The work reveals the stages of the formation of the artistic environment of Uzbekistan at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries, highlights the history of the creation of the Museum of Arts named after A. Savitsky, as well as an assessment of the contribution of I.V. Savitsky in the creation of a museum and the preservation of a unique collection of paintings by the «Turkestan avant-garde», archeology and ethnography of Uzbekistan.
