National principles of restoration in the context of the problems of preservation of cultural heritage

Abstract. Despite the presence of international regulatory documents, many countries continue to adhere to their own traditional principles for the preservation of cultural heritage. The article discusses a number of national approaches to restoration activities. Based on their analysis, the conclusion is drawn: the national principles of restoration always follow from the tasks put forward by a particular society in relation to its cultural heritage, and the developed international agreements are a continuation of the policy of consolidating various states into a single supranational union.

Key words: restoration, preservation, cultural heritage, national principles.
