Russian toponyms in the Spitzbergen (Grumant) map
Abstract. Paper describes Russian topography imprinted in the Spitsbergen (Svalbard) archipelago map. These toponyms (about 200) represent the names of Russian pioneer explorers, discoveries and names of the vessels and ships thus becoming the monuments in the Russian cartography. These toponyms are the intangible heritage of Russia.
Key words: Spitzbergen, Arctic, map, Russian topographic names, heritage, toponyms
