Abstract. The article examines historical and contemporary aspects of using Russian cultural heritage in Europe in tourism. Some social and cultural mechanisms of exploration of objects of Russian material heritage abroad have been analyzed. Examples of using Russian heritage objects in tourism in XIX-XX centuries have been given.
