Occupation Regime and Nazi Criminals in the Krasnodar Region (1942-1943):
An Analysis of Eyewitness Testimonies
Abstract. The article examines the crimes committed by the Nazi occupation regime in the Krasnodar Territory (1942–1943). The object of the study is the events in Krasnodar, Yeysk, Tikhoretsk, and the Apsheronsky District. The subject of the study is eyewitness accounts and archival documents. The article uses historical analysis and source criticism methods. The study reveals that the practice of mass killings, including the use of gas vans, was systematic. The article examines the continuity between the ideology of the T-4 program and the methods of terror in the occupied territory of the USSR. The author concludes that these crimes were part of a centralized policy of genocide. The contribution of this work lies in the systematization of local evidence, which serves as a strong argument against modern attempts to revise and relativize Nazi crimes.
Keywords: occupation, Nazi crimes, Krasnodar region, gas van, Great Patriotic War, genocide, evidence.
